Some benches preach better than pulpits.
This one taught me I don’t have to hustle to be loved. I can just sit. Breathe. Be.
There’s something sacred about the places that don’t demand anything from you. No metrics. No expectations. Just space. Presence. Rest. For me, that’s this tucked-away gazebo in the park—the kind of spot you pass by a dozen times without realizing it’s holy ground. But one day, it became a mirror for my soul. And a sermon I didn’t know I needed.
The Deeper Reflection
I spent years trapped in the belief that my value came from producing, performing, or staying "on." Even in spiritual spaces, rest was something to earn, not receive. But God isn't impressed by our exhaustion. He doesn't measure our worth in sermons preached, hours volunteered, or how well we mask anxiety with busy schedules.
That gazebo—first in real life, then transformed into a neon sci-fi dream in the edited version—showed me how even in the chaos of performance culture, there are still sacred places that invite us back to stillness.
Sometimes we imagine the world as a battleground of flashing lights, armor, noise. But grace carves out silence in the storm.
And in that silence, a bench still waits.
Today's Invitation
Find your bench.
Even if it's just a five-minute pause in your car before heading in. Even if it's your porch, your kitchen stool, your favorite walking trail. Sit. Breathe. Be.
No need to pray a perfect prayer. No need to earn the moment.
Let stillness remind you: You’re already enough.
Encouragement to Go
May you remember that rest is not laziness.
That your soul was made for peace.
And that Love—real Love—never asks you to hustle harder to belong.
Grace and Peace,
Geraldo
